OR=1.793 (IC95%: 1.153 – 2.788).
sexo, dislipemia, diabetes mellitus 2 e hipertensión arterial.
que la dislipidemia y la hipertensión arterial To determine whether obesity is associated with atrial fibrillation in adults. Methodology: This is an analytical, observational, longitudinal, retrospective, retrospective, case-control study in which a data collection instrument was used using the medical records of the Hospital II-1 Jorge Reategui Delgado during the period January-2014 to December-2019 with a sample of 396 patients. Results: Of the 396 patients, three factors were found to be significantly associated with atrial fibrillation: obesity presented an OR=2.003 (95%CI: 1.27 - 3.15), HTN an OR=1.984 (95%CI: 1.27 - 3.08) and dyslipidemia an OR=1.793 (95%CI: 1.153 - 2.788). Atrial fibrillation is higher in patients with obesity in 68.2% compared to those without obesity in 31.8%. BMI is higher when the patient presents atrial fibrillation regardless of the type of atrial fibrillation. Conclusion: Atrial fibrillation occurs more frequently in patients with type II obesity and morbid obesity, regardless of sex, dyslipidemia, diabetes mellitus 2 and hypertension. There is an association between obesity, arterial hypertension, dyslipidemia and atrial fibrillation. Obesity increases the possibility of atrial fibrillation 2-fold, as do dyslipidemia and arterial hypertension |
