AIM: Compare and determine the chemical composition of MTA and modified Portland cement using X ray diffraction. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This investigation used two commercial cements MTA Plus (PREVEST DenPro, India) and grey Portland cement modified with bismuth oxide (Chemsavers, USA). Both cements were analyzed by X ray diffraction using the diffractor Brucker D8 ADVANCE ECO of the Multidisciplinary Investigation Lab at the Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego. The comparison of the chemical composition was performed by the Z test, where a level higher than 5% is considered significant. RESULTS: The study revealed a statistically significant difference between the chemical composition of both cements, the only similarities between them were: bismuth oxide (Bi 2 O 3 ) and Hartrurite (Ca 3 elements in their composition. (SIO 4 ) O). Both cements share 75% of the same chemical CONCLUSIONS: A 75% of chemical elements were the same in both cements, these elements were distributed differently in the chemical compounds, showing a significant difference in their composition. |
