observacional, retrospectivo, seccional transversal.
Determine whether obesity is associated with esophagitis in patients treated at the Bethlehem Hospital of Trujillo factor. Material and Methods: A study of analytical, observational, retrospective, cross- sectional type was carried out. The study population consisted of 138 adult patients; who they were divided into 2 groups: with esophagitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease without it. Results: No significant differences were found for age, gender and origin between the groups with and without esophagitis. The prevalence of obesity in patients with esophagitis and without him was 45 % and 13 % respectively. Obesity is associated with esophagitis with an odds ratio of 5.89 which was significant factor. The group with esophagitis gastroesophageal reflux disease has a significantly higher average body mass index than the group without esophagitis (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Obesity is associated with esophagitis in patients treated at the Bethlehem Hospital of Trujillo factor. |
