To determine the validity of the Sha2Pe scale to predict the risk of hospital intervention in patients with lower gastrointestinal bleeding. Material and methods: A retrospective, analytical, cohort study was carried out, in which 62 patients with lower gastrointestinal bleeding were included, according to selection criteria which were divided according to the presence or not of elevated score of the digestive tract. scale, the chi square and the relative risk statistic were calculated. Results: No significant differences were observed for the variables age, sex, alcohol consumption, tobacco consumption, nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs consumption or comorbidities between the study groups (p>0.05), the proportion of patients requiring hospital intervention for lower gastrointestinal bleeding with a high Sha2Pe scale it was 26/31 = 84%, the proportion of patients requiring hospital intervention for lower gastrointestinal bleeding with a low Sha2Pe scale was 3/31 = 10%, the Sha2Pe scale is a predictor of risk for hospital intervention in Bleeding Lower Digestive Bleeding with a relative risk of 8.7 which was significant (p<0.05), in the multivariate analysis the high Sha2Pe Scale is identified as a risk factor for hospital intervention in Lower Digestive Bleeding (p<0.05). Conclusion: The Sha2Pe scale is valid for predicting the risk of hospital intervention in patients with lower gastrointestinal bleeding at the Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital. |
